Who should pay for a survey and why?

It should be any prospective buyer that pays for a survey, this is typical with boats and houses. Sometimes a seller may pay for the survey and this is usually a good sign of trust as they are happy to have a survey undertaken. There is no legal requirement to have a survey but having one could well save you money and time.

What types of surveys do we undertake?

We undertake surveys on campervans, motorhomes, static caravans and of course caravans in general. We do not survey boats. A survey is generally 3 - 4 hours and the seller needs to be aware of this, we check mechanicals, electrical, gas, habitation, security and this includes a test drive of any vehicle. We undertake surveys nationwide and our fees are fixed.

Could I save money with a survey?

A survey will not only consist of the above checks but we will also look into the history of the vehicle, this includes servicing and repairs, a full HPI for out standing finance and fraud but also a lot of other security checks for cloned or stolen vehicles. A survey in its basic form can help you avoid making a bad buying decision, it will also give you a clear and fair valuation along with any reccomendations of work that needs to be done which will allow you to negotiate very strongly with the seller.
